Drew Hamill Band

at Crusoes

Saturday 7th March at 7pm

Drew Hamill is a guitarist and songwriter from Portrush.  After many years of playing with numerous musicians and blues, rock and jazz bands, including the Mighty Shamrocks, Derry jazz legend Gay McIntyre and drummer Jim Whiteside, Drew began recording his own songs, launching his album 'Sonic Resistance' last year and building the Drew Hamill Band up around this. Defying categorisation, Drew's musical tales are of love, war, life, death, happiness and just plain rockin’ out in his own unique style. He's currently busy working on songs for a new album ...

Playing as part of the Drew Hamill Band are Mark Lundy on bass and vocals, Willis Beckett on drums and Patrick Black on keys. Mark has played with numerous local bands and is also the long standing bass player for Espresso Jazz.  Originally from Coleraine, Willis spent 30 years in New Zealand playing drums with various groups, including the National Big Band Jazz Orchestra. Patrick is a Glasgow native now living in Ballycastle, where he and his family are all regular players on the local traditional music scene.

On 7th March Drew and the band will play a mix of good covers and originals, for your listening pleasure.

You can check out Drew's music at https://www.drewhamill.com/music/ and an interview with Ronan Lundy on BBC Radio Ulster 'Your Place and Mine', which includes info about Drew's early years as a guitarist https://youtu.be/GGQS8YWuhe0
